For those days that you are stuck indoors, this is a fun DIY with the bonus of being super easy to clean up. These bath paints are easy to make, non-toxic and safe for toddlers and babies to play with. They will not stain your tub and wash away with just water.
We first introduced these tub paints at around 15 months. At first he just liked to dip his hands in the paint. Its an awesome solid/liquid texture, so I cannot blame him. He is now 22 months and actually enjoys painting the bathtub and himself.
Baby soap – any brand will do
Muffin Tin or Plastic egg carton (To put paints in)
For each color mix together:
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 4-5 drops food coloring,
- 2 Tsp baby soap of choice
- 2 Tsp of water.
Mix ingredients together until combined and color is mixed well. If you find your paints too paste like just add a little bit more water. The paints work best when they are a bit more on the runny side. That’s it! I told you this would be easy.
Now just pop your kiddos into an empty bath with their tray of bath paints. Provide them with brushes, sponges, and old toilet paper tubes. Let them decorate until their hearts content. When you are ready to clean up; hand your child a washcloth, turn on the tub and let them enjoy washing their creations away.
